India and Myanmar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a Small Development Project aimed at constructing a school in Nay Pyi Taw, the capital of Myanmar. The agreement was signed during the visit of Kirti Vardhan Singh (Union Minister of State for External Affairs), who described it as a significant step in India's development partnership with Myanmar. Singh highlighted the initiative's focus on local needs and aspirations, reinforcing India's commitment to assisting Myanmar's developmental efforts. During his four-day visit from April 8 to April 11, 2026, Singh will also attend the inauguration ceremony of Myanmar's new President on April 10 and engage with key officials to discuss ongoing trade and economic cooperation. His interactions with Myanmar's strategic and academic community, including institutions like the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies and Yangon University, aim to strengthen bilateral relations further.
