Austin Rhoads has been appointed as the new athletic director for Lakota West High School in Liberty Township, Ohio, following the retirement of Scott Kaufman. Rhoads, a 2001 graduate, has over 20 years of experience in education and athletics, including a successful tenure as athletic director at Springboro since 2016. He expressed excitement about returning to his roots, stating, "I am excited and honored to return home to Lakota West and give back to a school and community that has meant so much to me." Rhoads has a rich history with Lakota West, having coached baseball for eight years and being part of the 2007 state championship team. His experience at Springboro, where he oversaw a competitive athletic department, has prepared him for the challenges of the Greater Miami Conference. Rhoads aims to honor Kaufman's legacy while fostering a strong culture of athletics and personal growth among student-athletes.
