An MRI conducted in Dallas confirmed the severity of the injury, leading to the announcement that Doncic will be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season, which concludes before the NBA playoffs begin on April 18. Typically, a Grade 2 strain requires a recovery period of about a month. In addition to Doncic, the Lakers announced that Austin Reaves has also been diagnosed with a Grade 2 left oblique muscle injury and will miss the rest of the regular season, with an expected recovery time of four to six weeks.
