Initially starting as a specialist batter due to a lower-back injury, Green has not bowled in KKR's first two matches, both of which they lost, and their third match was washed out after 3.4 overs. Cricket Australia announced on March 30 that Green would be managed carefully, but now, with more than ten days since that update, he is ready to bowl competitively. KKR's bowling strategy has suffered due to injuries to key players, including Mustafizur Rahman, Harshit Rana, and Akash Deep, along with Sunil Narine's illness and Varun Chakravarthy's poor form. Green's batting performance has also been underwhelming, with scores of 18, 2, and 4, leading to discussions about his position in the batting order. Former Australian captain Aaron Finch has suggested that Green should either be pushed up the order or given a rest to help him regain his confidence.
