The Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) plans to introduce an online portal for building plan approvals, aiming to modernize civic administration and enhance transparency. This initiative, directed by state headquarters, is designed to streamline approval processes and reduce manual intervention. MCG Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya emphasized that the portal will facilitate faster application processing and accurate decision-making. Residents and developers will be able to submit applications online, track their status, and receive approvals without needing to visit offices repeatedly, addressing long-standing delays. While no specific launch date has been announced, the portal will be mandatory for all applicants once operational. To support this transition, MCG has partnered with the Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation (HARTRON) to manage digital operations and handle increased application volumes. The new system will integrate with existing civic infrastructure, including water connection software, to ensure seamless service delivery. Additionally, a sanitation management module has been developed to monitor waste operations and maintain digital records, further improving coordination between departments. This initiative addresses concerns over inefficiencies in building plan approvals that have led to unauthorized constructions in Gurugram, particularly amid rapid urban expansion.
