In a tragic incident in Kushinagar district, Uttar Pradesh, a 23-year-old woman named Kajal died from injuries resulting from an alleged acid attack, while her 58-year-old mother, Lilavati Devi, remains in critical condition. The attack occurred late Thursday night in the Morwan area, where an unidentified assailant reportedly entered their home through the roof and poured acid on both victims while they were asleep. Kajal was taken to Gorakhpur Medical College, where she succumbed to her injuries on Friday morning. Her mother is currently receiving treatment for severe burns. Kajal's father, Prabhunath Yadav, who was sleeping in another part of the house, rushed to their aid upon hearing their screams, but the attacker had already fled. Local police, including Deputy Inspector General of Police S. Channappa, are investigating the incident and have deployed additional forces to apprehend the suspect.
