During a recent meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), chief Mohsin Naqvi declared that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is evolving into the premier cricket league globally. He emphasized that the PSL has become an attractive market for investment and expressed confidence that it will soon surpass the Indian Premier League (IPL) in status. The board also approved the annual audited financial statements for the 2024-25 fiscal year and celebrated the record-breaking franchise auction for PSL 2026. In a separate incident, Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman was banned for two matches due to ball tampering during a PSL match. Sources indicated that umpires had been monitoring Zaman closely after suspicions were raised by the Karachi Kings management. Following his ban, Zaman's appeal to the PSL's technical committee was rejected, citing sufficient circumstantial evidence against him. He missed a match against Multan Sultans due to this suspension and is set to miss another game on April 9.
