In a significant operation, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has cracked down on illegal sales of expired and counterfeit consumer goods across Delhi. One notable arrest was that of Abdul Mannan Khan, who was found selling expired food products in Bijwasan. Following a raid on April 8, police seized 900 kg of grocery items and destroyed nearly 2,000 kg of dairy products, including curd and cheese, which posed serious health risks to consumers. In another operation in Dwarka, two men were apprehended for repackaging expired multinational brand food items with forged manufacturing and expiry dates. The police seized 115 boxes of tampered soft drinks and biscuits. Furthermore, a separate crackdown in Kanjhawala led to the arrest of six individuals involved in a counterfeit toothpaste racket, where low-quality paste was filled into empty tubes of a reputable brand. The police are continuing their investigations into these operations, emphasizing the serious health hazards posed by such illegal activities.
