Delo, who was convicted in the US for regulatory failures related to anti-money-laundering controls, stated that he made the donation earlier this year, prior to new restrictions on political donations from British citizens living abroad. As he plans to return to the UK, he will no longer be subject to these limits. In his article for the Telegraph, Delo expressed his motivations for supporting Reform UK, emphasizing a need for political honesty and a genuine alternative to the current government. He criticized the entrenched dishonesty he perceives in political elites and expressed concerns about issues such as government stances on transgender rights. Delo has previously supported over 50 organizations across the political spectrum and has provided resources for political events in Westminster, including a facility known as the Sanctuary. Nigel Farage welcomed Delo's support, highlighting its potential to enhance Reform UK's capabilities as they prepare for possible governance.
