On Wednesday, workers at Shiv Nadar University in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, staged a protest demanding salary increases and a doubling of overtime pay. Hundreds of workers gathered outside the university's entrance, raising slogans to voice their concerns. Police reported that the situation was brought under control after discussions with the demonstrators, and normalcy was restored by around 10:45 AM. In response to the protests, Gautam Buddha Nagar Police intensified security measures across the region, conducting foot patrols and flag marches to maintain law and order. This comes after a series of protests in Noida, including a violent demonstration by factory workers on Monday, which resulted in over 300 arrests and multiple FIRs lodged. Police officials have urged the public to cooperate in maintaining peace and warned against spreading rumors.
