This pay does not increase for time spent in space or for mission-related overtime. Canadian astronauts, including Hansen, have similar salary structures, ranging from $97,100 to $189,600, depending on their experience level. Hansen's participation marks his first journey into space and makes him the first Canadian to join a lunar mission.
