Muffin, a 5-year-old cat, has become a beloved daily visitor at the Dorval Library in Quebec, Canada. Known for his friendly nature, Muffin has earned a special membership card, making him a part of the library community. Peter and Janet Bjorn, Muffin's owners, often bring him to the library where he greets patrons and staff alike. Library staff member Dorothy Black notes Muffin's uncanny ability to know when the library opens and closes, often trying various doors to enter. Reference Librarian Gail Warren recalls how Muffin's visits began, with a phone call from his family letting the library know he was on his way. While he doesn't venture into the book stacks, his presence brings joy to visitors. Despite library rules against pets, staff members often have to escort him out when he refuses to leave. Muffin has also been spotted at the nearby Sarto-Desnoyers Community Centre and was even banned from The Royal St-Lawrence Yacht Club after causing a stir. The library staff affectionately refer to him as a 'lifetime member,' celebrating his role as a furry ambassador.
