Mark Few, the head coach of Gonzaga University, has been officially inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class. Few, who grew up in Creswell, Oregon, expressed overwhelming gratitude for his journey, stating that such an achievement was beyond his wildest dreams. The announcement was made in conjunction with the NCAA Final Four weekend, where Few joined a distinguished group of inductees, including NBA coaches Doc Rivers and Mike D'Antoni, and former WNBA stars like Candace Parker and Elena Delle Donne. Few's coaching career at Gonzaga began in 1989 as a graduate assistant, and he became head coach in 1999. During his tenure, the Zags have not missed the NCAA Tournament, boasting an impressive 28 consecutive bids. With a career record of 773-156 and nine seasons with 30 or more wins, Few has solidified his legacy in college basketball. His teams have advanced to the Sweet 16 13 times, reached the Elite Eight five times, and competed in two national championship games in 2017 and 2021. Few acknowledged the significant sacrifices made by his family and credited his coaching staff, particularly former assistant Tommy Lloyd, for their contributions to his success.
