Vikram Misri, India's Foreign Secretary, wrapped up a three-day visit to the United States aimed at strengthening energy cooperation between the two nations. In discussions with US Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Misri focused on advancing energy security and exploring new areas such as coal gasification and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports. The talks were particularly significant following India's recent passage of the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy Act (SHANTI Act), which opens the civil nuclear sector to private players. US Ambassador to India, Sergei Gor, expressed readiness to collaborate on civil nuclear initiatives, emphasizing the importance of the India-US Energy Partnership. Misri's visit also included meetings with senior officials from various US departments, highlighting the growing defense cooperation between the two countries.
