Baljit Singh Daduwal, a co-opted member of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC), has called for Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami to transfer the management of the Miri Piri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Kurukshetra, Haryana, to the HSGMC. This statement follows SGPC's decision to protest on April 7 against police actions that led to the booking of 20 SGPC members after a confrontation with HSGMC leaders on March 20. Daduwal emphasized that if Dhami were to relinquish what he termed 'illegal control,' they would honor him during his return to Ambala, marking the restoration of 'Haryana's rightful control' over the institute. He also noted that a case regarding the institute is pending in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which is expected to resolve the management issue legally. Furthermore, a high-level delegation has approached the Kurukshetra Superintendent of Police, demanding strict legal action against those involved in the March 28 incident.
