A wedding ceremony in Patai village, Gwalior district, Madhya Pradesh, escalated into violence when guests demanded alcohol and were denied. The groom, Mahesh Jatav, and his family were assaulted by a group of neighbors, including Manoj Jatav and others, after they refused to provide money for liquor. The confrontation began during a dining session on Tuesday night, leading to physical assaults on the bride, groom, and family members. The attackers also allegedly stole money and household items. Guests at the wedding intervened, resulting in a physical clash. Police have initiated an investigation, receiving complaints from both the groom's family and the neighbors involved. City Superintendent of Police Manish Yadav stated that the conflict arose from a refusal to fulfill the guests' demands for alcohol during the celebrations.
