During the closing ceremony of the inaugural Khelo India Tribal Games held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced cash prizes for state medallists. Chhattisgarh finished ninth in the overall medal tally, securing 3 gold, 10 silver, and 6 bronze medals. Individual gold medallists will receive ₹2 lakh (approximately $2,400 USD), while silver and bronze medallists will get ₹1.5 lakh (about $1,800 USD) and ₹1 lakh (around $1,200 USD) respectively. Team medallists will also receive cash awards, with gold winners earning ₹1 lakh (approximately $1,200 USD). The event saw participation from 30 states and union territories, with nearly 3,800 athletes competing across various sports. Karnataka emerged as the overall champion, followed by Odisha and Jharkhand. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao emphasized the successful organization of the Games and promised that the next edition would be even grander, setting a benchmark for future events in Chhattisgarh.
