Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a substantial allocation of ₹1,200 crore (approximately $144 million USD) aimed at enhancing infrastructure for the upcoming Kumbh Mela 2027. This funding includes ₹282.29 crore designated for 28 key projects across various departments to expedite development. Additionally, ₹1,018.21 crore has been allocated under the District Plan for the financial year 2026-27, supporting ongoing development initiatives across the state. The Chief Minister has instructed officials to ensure timely and high-quality implementation of these public welfare schemes to maximize benefits for the residents. During a recent meeting of the Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB), he emphasized the need for accelerated work on critical infrastructure projects, including the Haridwar Ganga Corridor and Rishikesh Ganga Corridor. Dhami also highlighted the importance of safety measures in the Sharda Corridor project and the beautification of riverfronts to improve facilities for pilgrims and tourists.
