He highlighted worries from scholars and activists that the new delimitation could lead to a disproportionate increase in MPs from northern states, primarily due to their larger populations. Siddaramaiah stressed the importance of maintaining equitable representation for southern states in this process. Additionally, he addressed concerns regarding fuel shortages, attributing them to the central government's policies rather than state-level decisions. He suggested that those affected by the shortages should direct their protests towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi rather than local officials like Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister K.H. Muniyappa.
