Bikramjit Singh, also known as Vicky, was arrested by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Banaskantha district, Gujarat, after being wanted by Punjab Police for his involvement in a grenade smuggling case. Singh, a resident of Nangal Panual in Amritsar, Punjab, was working as a labourer at a roadside eatery in Deesa when he was detained. The Punjab Police had provided intelligence about his whereabouts, leading to his capture. During interrogation, it was revealed that Singh collaborated with Shehzad Bhatti, a Pakistani gangster linked to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), to supply grenades and orchestrate attacks on security installations in Punjab. Singh had also been recruiting individuals from Punjab into this organized crime network. He faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Explosive Substances Act of 1908, and the Arms Act of 1959, and has been handed over to the Amritsar state special operations cell for further legal proceedings.
