The University of North Carolina (UNC) has officially parted ways with five-star recruit Dylan Mingo, just a week into the tenure of new head coach Michael Malone. Mingo had committed to the Tar Heels on February 17, during Hubert Davis's coaching period, but did not sign a National Letter of Intent. Reports from Tar Heel 247 and Inside Carolina suggest that Malone personally decided to move on from Mingo after recent meetings. As a result, Mingo is now exploring options at Washington or Baylor, although he may consider other schools as well. Additionally, his brother, Kayden Mingo, is also searching for a new team, raising the possibility of them playing together again. The situation remains fluid as National Signing Day approaches on April 15.
