Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to lay the foundation for the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) campus in Bhubaneswar on Friday, as part of a two-day visit to Odisha. The campus will be built on 40 acres of land and will serve as a center of excellence for forensic and allied sciences. Shah will also attend the 57th Raising Day ceremony of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as chief guest. Additionally, he will inaugurate a three-day exhibition organized by the Odisha Police to raise awareness about the new criminal laws, which will come into effect on July 1, 2024. These laws aim to enhance the criminal justice system in India, focusing on crimes against women and children. The exhibition, featuring the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, will be open to the public from March 7 to March 10. Shah's visit will also include the virtual inauguration of new cyber police stations and police infrastructure projects, reflecting the government's commitment to modernizing law enforcement in the state.
