Asha Bhosle, the legendary Indian playback singer, has passed away at the age of 92 following a cardiac arrest. Renowned for her unparalleled contribution to the music industry, Bhosle was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2011 as the most-recorded artist in music history. Over her nearly eight-decade career, she recorded more than 11,000 songs across 20 languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Tamil. Her diverse repertoire spanned genres such as classical, ghazals, cabaret, and pop. Bhosle was the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. Her passing has left a significant void in the hearts of music lovers, and her timeless hits, such as 'Piya Tu Ab To Aaja' and 'Dum Maaro Dum,' continue to resonate with fans worldwide. The announcement of her death was made by Ashish Shelar, the Minister of Cultural Affairs of Maharashtra, and her last rites are scheduled to take place at Shivaji Park.
