On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers made strategic moves to enhance their pitching depth by acquiring Jake Eder, a 27-year-old left-hander, from the Washington Nationals and claiming Grant Holman, a 25-year-old right-hander, off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Eder, who was designated for assignment by the Nationals, had a record of 0-1 with a 4.91 ERA over 18.1 innings of relief last season. The Dodgers compensated Washington with cash considerations for Eder. Holman, who was also designated for assignment, recorded a 4-2 record with a 5.09 ERA in 22 appearances for the Oakland Athletics last season. To accommodate these new players, the Dodgers transferred right-handers Jake Cousins and Gavin Stone to the 60-day injured list, making room on their 40-man roster.
