At the Asian Boxing Championships, India's Minakshi Hooda (48kg) and Preeti Pawar (54kg) led the country to a gold rush, contributing to a total of 10 medals for the women's team, including four golds. Minakshi won her gold with a 5-0 victory over Mongolia’s Nomundari Enkh-Amgalan, while Preeti outclassed three-time world champion Huang Hsiao-wen of Chinese Taipei with another 5-0 decision. Other gold medalists included Priya Ghanghas (60kg) and Arundhati Choudhary (70kg). Despite the triumphs, reigning world champion Jaismine Lamboria faced disappointment, losing 0-5 to Thailand’s Punrawee Ruenros in the 57kg final. Additionally, Alfiya Pathan earned a silver in the 80+kg category. The achievements have also secured spots for the boxers in the upcoming Commonwealth and Asian Games, as per the Boxing Federation of India's selection policy. Overall, India confirmed 16 medals, the highest tally of any nation in this edition of the Championships.
