The Kathmandu District Court in Nepal has granted a two-day police remand for former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as part of an investigation into the Gen-Z protests that took place on September 8 and 9, 2025. The protests resulted in violence and casualties, prompting a probe commission led by former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki. Oli, who was arrested last Saturday at his residence in Gundu, is currently receiving treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and is being questioned by a joint team from the Kathmandu District Police Range and the District Government Attorney's Office. Due to ongoing health issues, doctors have advised against his discharge, allowing investigators to conduct questioning at the hospital. Former home minister Ramesh Lekhak is also in custody, having completed his statement process at the nearby government attorney's office. The court had previously granted a five-day remand for both leaders following the commission's recommendations.
