Asha Bhosle, the renowned 92-year-old playback singer from India, was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai on April 11 due to a chest infection and extreme exhaustion. Her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, shared the update on Instagram, requesting privacy for the family during this time. Bhosle has had a prolific career, spanning over 80 years, during which she has recorded more than 12,000 songs in various Indian languages. She is celebrated for her versatility across genres, including romantic melodies and ghazals. Some of her most famous tracks include ‘Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar’ and ‘Dil Cheez Kya Hai’. In 2023, she performed at a concert titled ‘ASHA@90: Live in concert’ in Dubai, celebrating her remarkable journey in music. Asha Bhosle is also the younger sister of the late legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.
