Dashrath Singh, a 55-year-old former non-commissioned officer from Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan, India, has made headlines by earning 138 degrees, diplomas, and certificates, primarily through the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). His latest achievement is a Master’s degree in Vedic Studies, completed with distinction at a recent IGNOU convocation. Singh's academic journey began after he retired from the Indian Army in 2004, where he served for 16 years in various regions, including Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. Despite facing financial challenges in his early life, he pursued education during his annual leaves while in service. Today, his qualifications include three PhDs, seven undergraduate degrees, and 46 postgraduate degrees, alongside numerous diplomas and certificates. Singh has also set 11 world records in education, recognized by organizations such as the India Book of Records. Beyond academics, he now serves as a legal advisor with the Army’s Sapta Shakti Command, focusing on legal matters for serving and retired personnel, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to the community.
