Romi Bhinder, the team manager of the Rajasthan Royals, is facing scrutiny after being caught on camera using a mobile phone in the dugout during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. According to IPL regulations, while team managers are permitted to use mobile phones in the dressing room, they are prohibited from doing so in the dugout. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently investigating the incident, with secretary Devajit Saikia confirming that action will be taken if Bhinder is found to have violated any rules. Saikia emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that Bhinder's ability to use a phone is permissible as long as it is within the designated area. Former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi has publicly urged the governing council to take immediate action if Bhinder is found guilty. The Rajasthan Royals are scheduled to play against the Sunrisers Hyderabad next, and it remains to be seen whether Bhinder will be present in the dugout amid the controversy.
