In a bid to enhance affordability for students, the Mumbai Metro Railway Corporation Ltd (MMRC) has launched a 25% discount on travel passes for students up to Class 12 on its Aqua Line, effective from April 8. The concessional passes are available exclusively on the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). The Aqua Line, Mumbai's first fully underground metro corridor, spans 33.5 km and connects Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai to Aarey JVLR in suburban Goregaon, featuring 27 stations. Once fully operational by August 2025, it is projected to carry 17 lakh passengers daily, alleviating traffic congestion and reducing travel times. Since its partial opening in October 2024, the Aqua Line has already transported four crore passengers, significantly decreasing daily car trips in the city.
