In Nashik, Maharashtra, six team leaders from an IT company have been arrested following multiple sexual harassment complaints from women colleagues. Police reported that nine complaints were filed, with eight from female employees detailing sexual offences and inappropriate religious remarks. The allegations span incidents over the past four years, indicating systemic issues within the workplace. One of the accused faces serious charges of sexual exploitation under the pretext of marriage. The company's HR department is also under scrutiny after an official allegedly advised a complainant to 'stay cool,' suggesting that such gestures are common in multinational corporations. A special investigation team (SIT) has been established to thoroughly investigate the complaints. Nashik's Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sandeep Mitke, emphasized the importance of women feeling safe to report harassment, assuring that strict action will be taken against offenders. The main accused in the rape case is currently in judicial custody, while the other arrested employees remain in police custody until April 10.
