Alanna Smith has officially joined the Dallas Wings on a three-year maximum contract, according to her agent, Sammy Wloszczowski. The 6-foot-4 forward, who gained recognition as a defensive standout with the Minnesota Lynx, was named co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2025. Last season, she averaged 9.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.9 blocks, and 1.3 steals. Smith's move to the Wings rounds out a busy free agency period for the team, which also re-signed key players Arike Ogunbowale and Awak Kuier, and added Jessica Shepard. The Wings are preparing for the upcoming collegiate draft, where they hold the No. 1 pick, having previously selected Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers in 2025.
