The victim was introduced to a fraudulent investment scheme through a WhatsApp group named ‘Po8-5 Paisa Wealth Horizon’ earlier this year. Initially, he invested ₹10,000 on February 5, 2026, after being convinced by individuals posing as investment advisors. Over the following months, he transferred a total of ₹1.1 crore through various banking methods, lured by promised returns of up to 5% per day. By the end of March, the app showed a balance of ₹4.73 crore, which included alleged profits. However, when he attempted to withdraw funds, he was asked to pay additional fees, leading to his realization of the fraud. The victim reported the incident to the cyber crime police, who have since registered a zero FIR and begun an investigation.
