In fiscal year 2025-26, Nalco (National Aluminium Company Limited), a central public sector enterprise in India, achieved its best operational performance since its establishment over 40 years ago. The company recorded its highest bauxite excavation at 77.01 lakh tonnes and transportation at 77.07 lakh tonnes. Alumina hydrate production reached 23 lakh tonnes, while calcined alumina output stood at 22.75 lakh tonnes. Aluminium smelting also peaked, with cast metal production hitting 4.72 lakh tonnes. Nalco's net power generation reached an all-time high of 6,953 million units (MU), and coal production amounted to 40 lakh tonnes, enhancing energy security. Sales figures were impressive, with total alumina sales increasing by 30.74% to 14.46 lakh tonnes, driven by domestic and export demand. The company's chairman, Brijendra Pratap Singh, credited this success to the dedication of employees and stakeholders. Looking ahead, Singh emphasized the importance of improving plant, people, and process efficiencies while embracing digital transformation and green initiatives to sustain growth.
