The United Football League (UFL) has confirmed its plans to expand by adding a new team in Oklahoma City for the 2028 season. This decision aligns with the league's broader strategy to grow to 16 teams by 2035, with Oklahoma City being one of two new markets to be introduced in the next two years. UFL president and CEO Russ Brandon stated that the timing is perfect for bringing UFL football to Oklahoma City. The new team will play at the MAPS 4 Multipurpose Stadium, currently under construction in downtown Oklahoma City, which will accommodate approximately 10,000 fans for football games. Co-owner Mike Repole highlighted Oklahoma's deep-rooted passion for football, making it an ideal location for the new franchise. He expressed confidence that the community will support the team, reflecting the state's enthusiasm for both college and high school football.
