K. Annamalai, the former State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claimed that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its candidate V. Senthilbalaji will lose the upcoming Assembly elections in Coimbatore. Speaking to the media in Coimbatore city, Annamalai emphasized that Senthilbalaji is the only candidate aiming for victory in the constituency. He mentioned that 18 independent candidates from Karur have filed nominations, alleging they will distribute freebies to sway voters. Annamalai also criticized Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's comments regarding the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) Bill, which has been withdrawn, and expressed concerns about the lack of clarity on whether the Tamil Nadu government has resubmitted the Detailed Project Report for Coimbatore and Madurai.
