In a dominant performance, Elissa Caricofe helped lead Buffalo Gap to a 13-3 victory against Alleghany in Shenandoah District softball on April 9. Caricofe went 4-for-4, hitting a home run with the bases loaded in the fifth inning, driving in four runs, and also contributing a double in the second inning. The win marked Buffalo Gap's sixth consecutive victory, improving their record to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the district. Bailey Tribble pitched all five innings, allowing only three hits and striking out two batters. Other notable performances included Tribble's 2-for-3 batting with three runs scored, while Faith Showalter, Mckenzie Woods, and Emarie Smiley each contributed with two hits. In other sports results, the Shenandoah District baseball saw Riverheads defeat Fort Defiance 3-0, and the girls soccer team from Stuarts Draft maintained their unbeaten streak with a 3-2 win over Staunton.
