In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, a court has sentenced two British nationals, Hassan Amman Saleem and Sumitra Shakeel Olivia, to six months' imprisonment for illegally entering India from Nepal. The Chief Judicial Magistrate Pratibha Chowdhry also imposed a fine of ₹50,000 (approximately $600 USD) on each convict. If they fail to pay the fine, they will face an additional three months' imprisonment.
