The upcoming Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) House meeting scheduled for April 15 is anticipated to be contentious as corporators prepare to challenge municipal officials over unresolved civic issues. Key concerns include persistent failures in door-to-door waste collection, non-functional streetlights, and contaminated water supply. Corporators have expressed frustration that despite raising these issues consistently for the past three years, little progress has been made. Shailendra Verma, a corporator from Chinhat Ward 2, highlighted that his ward contributes nearly ₹70 crore (approximately $8.4 million USD) in taxes, yet basic infrastructure improvements remain lacking. Other corporators, such as Amit Chowdhury from Mahatma Gandhi Ward, will address sewer overflow and water quality issues, while Mukesh Singh Chauhan from Ismailganj Ward plans to discuss the deteriorating waste collection system. The meeting will also focus on the apparent disconnect between tax revenues and development efforts, with corporators demanding transparency on fund utilization and project progress under various civic schemes.
