In an effort to tackle traffic congestion in Pune, India, the City Transformation Committee has issued directives to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) to mark autorickshaw stands on 32 major roads and remove abandoned vehicles under the 'Mission 32' initiative. Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram stated that 32 officers from the Municipal Corporation and Police Department will be appointed as coordinators to oversee the project, ensuring inter-departmental collaboration and timely progress reports. The committee, formed to address various urban challenges, also discussed the development of 12 missing link roads and the implementation of 'Pay & Park' facilities on key roads. Additionally, measures are being taken to address waterlogging issues identified across the city, with tenders being processed to initiate necessary remedial works. This initiative reflects the city's commitment to improving traffic flow and urban infrastructure.
