The West Bengal Motion Picture Artists’ Forum has initiated a police complaint against the producers of the television serial ‘Bholey Baba Par Karega’ following the accidental drowning of actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee during a shoot near Digha, Purba Medinipur district, West Bengal. The forum, represented by senior members including actors Prosenjit Chatterjee and Santilal Mukherjee, is demanding a fair and transparent investigation into the incident. Banerjee tragically passed away on March 29, after slipping into an underwater ditch while filming a dance sequence. Despite attempts to save him, he could not be revived at the hospital. In response to the tragedy, the Bengali film community organized a rally, carrying placards that read ‘Justice for Rahul’, and called for accountability from the production team. The production house has expressed its condolences and committed to a thorough investigation, inviting oversight from Banerjee's family or the forum. The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media, highlighting the need for safety measures in the film industry.
