Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu reviewed key infrastructure and urban development projects of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in Dwarka, New Delhi. He emphasized the need for world-class civic infrastructure to position Dwarka as a premier destination for global engagements, leveraging its connectivity through Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) and proximity to Indira Gandhi International Airport. Sandhu outlined plans for the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, Bharat Vandana Park, and a golf course, urging the development of a comprehensive roadmap to attract international conventions and business summits.
During the review, officials reported on the redevelopment of stormwater channels into green corridors featuring cycling tracks and public plazas, alongside improved sewage treatment and pollution control systems. The proposed five-star hotel in Sector 23 will operate under an annual license fee model, while the golf course in Sector 24 will include an 18-hole championship course designed for public access.
