Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri arrived in Berlin on Tuesday for the India-Germany Foreign Office consultations, which aim to strengthen bilateral relations. This visit follows German Chancellor Fredrich Merz's successful trip to India in January 2026, indicating ongoing high-level exchanges between the two countries. Misri will co-chair the consultations with Geza Andreas von Geyr, the State Secretary of the German Foreign Office, focusing on various areas of cooperation including trade, defense, technology, green energy, and development cooperation. The discussions will also address global and regional issues of mutual interest. Additionally, Misri is expected to meet with other dignitaries and senior officials during his stay. Prior to this, he co-chaired the India-France Foreign Office consultations in Paris, discussing topics such as civil nuclear energy and digital cooperation. This series of meetings highlights India's commitment to enhancing its diplomatic ties with major global partners.
