India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued a strong statement rejecting China's attempts to assign fictitious names to locations in Arunachal Pradesh, a state it claims as part of its territory. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that such actions by China could harm ongoing efforts to stabilize and normalize bilateral relations. He emphasized that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India, a position India has consistently maintained. The MEA cautioned China against actions that inject negativity into relations, especially in light of the ongoing talks to defuse tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) following the Galwan faceoff in May 2020. Analysts suggest that China's strategy includes using border infrastructure and renaming places to influence narratives in the region. India has previously rejected similar attempts by China, reaffirming its stance on Arunachal Pradesh.
