Fakhar Zaman, a key player for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has been handed a two-match ban for ball-tampering. The situation escalated when the Karachi Kings management informed the fourth umpire about their suspicions regarding Zaman's actions starting from the 13th over of the match. Umpire Faisal Afridi was already monitoring Zaman closely. After inspecting the ball just before the final over, Afridi suspected it had been tampered with a foreign object, prompting a decision to change the ball and award five penalty runs to the Karachi Kings. Zaman's appeal to the PSL's technical committee to overturn the ban was rejected, with the committee citing sufficient circumstantial evidence. Consequently, Zaman missed the match against Multan Sultans and will also miss another game on April 9.
