Uttar Pradesh's final electoral roll, published recently, now stands at 13.39 crore voters, reflecting a significant drop of 2.04 crore names or 13.24% from the pre-revision figure of 15.44 crore. This reduction is part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase II, which has seen a total deletion of 5.38 crore electors across twelve states and Union Territories since the exercise began on October 28, 2025. Among these, Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest absolute deletions, followed by West Bengal with nearly 91 lakh names removed. The SIR process has been contentious, particularly in West Bengal, and has led to multiple legal challenges. The deletions largely stem from urban migration, with the majority of removals categorized under Absent, Shifted, Dead (ASD) electors. Despite the deletions, Uttar Pradesh's final roll includes 7.3 crore men, 6.09 crore women, and 4,206 third-gender voters, with a noted addition of 17 lakh first-time voters aged 18-19. The gender ratio, however, remains the lowest among Phase II states at 834, although it has improved from 824 in the draft roll.
