Jharkhand police have successfully seized narcotics worth ₹2.55 crore (approximately $307,000 USD) across Palamu and Chatra districts. In Palamu, two individuals were arrested after police intercepted a pickup van containing 815 kg of poppy husk valued at ₹1.25 crore. The operation, which took place near Jawar village, resulted from a tip-off, although the van's driver managed to escape. Authorities are actively pursuing him. In a separate operation in Chatra, police seized narcotics worth ₹1.30 crore, which included 16.95 kg of opium, 297 kg of poppy husk, and 76.7 kg of poppy seeds from three houses. Additionally, police recovered ₹3,11,600 in cash and various personal documents from the suspects. Ongoing investigations aim to capture other individuals involved in these narcotics operations.
