Jaiprakash Gaur, the founder of the Jaypee Group, publicly supported the decision of the lenders to select the Adani Group as the successful bidder for the assets of Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL). Gaur stated that the committee of creditors made a fair choice and expressed confidence in Gautam Adani's ability to carry forward the legacy of JAL. The Adani Group's bid of ₹14,535 crore (approximately $1.76 billion USD) was approved last month by the Allahabad bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). This decision was contested by the Vedanta Group, which had submitted a higher bid of ₹17,926 crore (approximately $2.16 billion USD) in the appellate tribunal, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). Gaur also thanked both Adani and Vedanta for their participation in the insolvency process, highlighting the transparency and fairness of the proceedings.
