Starting today, Regina Transit in Saskatchewan, Canada, has implemented fare increases for its services. Single ride fares for electronic payments via the Umo app or debit/credit cards have risen from $2.90 to $3.20, while cash fares have increased from $3.25 to $3.50. Additionally, paper transfers will no longer be accepted, as electronic transfers will be automatically applied. Monthly passes have also seen significant increases, with adult 31-day passes now priced at $97, up from $88, and youth passes rising to $66 from $60. The cost for ten adult rides has increased to $32, while ten youth rides now cost $27. New Umo cards will incur a $5 fee. The City of Regina anticipates that these fare adjustments will generate approximately $585,000 annually, as part of the budget process approved for 2026-2027. The last fare increase occurred in 2017, and the city asserts that the new rates remain comparable to those in similar-sized cities.
