Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is set to adapt the Ramayana, featuring actors Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, with a focus on respecting the original narrative by Valmiki. In an interview, Tiwari stated that while he acknowledges the existence of over 300 versions of the epic, he aims to follow established guidelines to avoid offending sentiments. He believes that by adhering to certain creative boundaries, the film can still explore emotional themes deeply rooted in the story, such as morals and relationships. The film promises to present Ayodhya and Lanka in a fresh light while maintaining the emotional core of the narrative. Produced by Namit Malhotra through Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash's Monster Mind Creations, the film is set for a grand release in two parts during Diwali in 2026 and 2027, with a staggering budget of ₹4000 crore (approximately $480 million USD).
